If an army looks good and looks like it knows what it's doing, it has won half the fight. The enemy now has a doubt about himself, a hesitation. If an army is well disciplined, it can win over superior numbers, and if it is well skilled, it has already won. Fighting becomes a formality.

LEGIO X FRETENSIS

http://www.quiknet.com/~fifi/index9.htm

5 out of 10 stars (3 votes)

Legio X Fretensis derived its name from the Fretum Siculum. This is the water channel located between Italy and Sicily, now called the Straits of Messina. Legio X Fretensis was reported to have been officially formed sometime during 712 or 713 AUC (41 to 40 BC) by Octavian. The "bull" symbol on the Vexillum standard indicates that it was probably organized during the time period of 17 ApriI to 18 May, as this is the zodiac sign sacred to Venus, the goddess mother of the Julian gens.

SPQR Roman Reenacting was created in 2000. My name is Taylor Genovese, my reenacting name is Titus Decimus Romulus. SPQR was made so that men, women, and children could reenact Roman times. But SPQR is unique because people can PICK what they want to be. From senators to gladiators to the army.
